Levine has performed recently with Marina Abramović in her retrospective at the New York MoMA, with performance artist Carolee Schneemann, and with choreographers including: Jennifer Monson, koosil-ja hwang, Alan Good, Marianela Boán, Pat Catterson, Larissa Velez, Despina Stamos, Pele Bauch, Wendy Osserman and the Denishawn Repertory Dancers.
The family moved to New York City in 1921, where Jane began studying dancing, after she saw a St. Denis program that included “Brahms Waltz and Liebesträume”, a solo that inspired her to study at the New York Denishawn School.
Rice was born in Hingham, Massachusetts, settled in Fitchburg, Massachusetts and founded the "Marion Rice Studio of the Dance" where she taught and performed Denishawn technique for over 60 years.
Marion Rice Denishawn Dancers is a dance company devoted to preserving Denishawn dance, the choreography of modern dance pioneers Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn, taught and staged by Marion Rice, a Massachusetts modern dance and ballet teacher, performer, choreographer and producer who died in 1995.
She graduated from the Denishawn School of Dancing and Related Arts, and was a member of the Denishawn Players which toured across the nation putting on performances in theaters and auditoriums.
