Bus- Buses are well connected to Bonaigarh from various places i.e. Rourkela, Deogarh, Barkote, Angul, Sundergarh and Sambalpur.
The community descend from Raja Bhagtu Shah, the ruler of the state of Deogarh, who converted to Islam.
He was thrice elected as a Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from the Deogarh Parliamentary Constituency (1984, 1991 & 1996) and was also a Member of the Odisha Legislative Assembly for two terms (1971 & 1974).
In 1743, the Maratha leader Raghoji Bhonsale of Vidarbha established himself at Nagpur, after conquering the territories of Deogarh, Chanda and Chhattisgarh by 1751.
In addition, the divisional forest officer of Deogarh captured a pangolin (scaly ant-eater) and two porcupines, and the divisional forest officer of Puri captured a pair of wild boars and a Python.
