Dick Pope, Sr. (1900–1988), founder of Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Florida; Waterskiing Hall of Fame inductee
In addition to his skiing career, Pope succeeded his father, Dick Pope Sr. as president of Cypress Gardens in 1962.
His son, Dick Pope, Jr., is the first person to successfully barefoot water ski, and is also a member to the Water Ski Hall of Fame.
