In the late-80s/early-90s, Dingwalls was venue to the famous jazz dance club Talkin Loud and Saying Something, with Gilles Peterson and Patrick Forge.

The original owner of the building, T.E. Dingwall, had his name painted on to the outside wall of the building, which was a common practice by businesses in Camden Town during the late Victorian era.
The album was released on Goldtop Recordings/Jungle Records in September 2009 with a launch concert at Dingwalls, Camden featuring performances by most of the album's guest singers.
