Bispegården, Copenhagen

After the Reformation, the new Lutheran Bishop of Zealand was given the university's building, while the university relocated to the dethroned Catholic bishop's palace.

Diocese of Roskilde

The Diocese of Roskilde was formed in 1922 when the Diocese of Zealand was divided into the Diocese of Copenhagen and the Diocese of Roskilde.

Godthaab Church, Copenhagen

The foundation stone was set on 3 October by provost and later Bishop of Zealand, Ostenfeld.

Ludvig Harboe

After returning to Copenhagen in 1748, he married Frederikke Louise Hersleb, the daughter of Peder Hersleb, the Bishop of the Diocese of Sjælland.

Peter Erasmus Müller

Returning to Denmark, he wrote numerous works; was appointed professor of theology at the University of Copenhagen in 1801, and in 1830 became Bishop of Zealand, the highest ecclesiastical dignity in Denmark.

In 1892, a temporary church was therefore consecrated in the former gym hall of a local folk high school to relieve the pressure on Frederiksberg Church and the young Harald Ostenfeld, later Bishop of Zealand, was instituted as its first pastor.
