He was discovered by Julio Ernesto Estrada, the bass player and director of the band Fruko y sus Tesos and signed up with Colombian record label Discos Fuentes.
It disbanded in 1963, but was re-formed in 1975 under the direction of Julio Ernesto Estrada "Fruko" Rincón, the artistic director of the Discos Fuentes record label.
Sonora Carruseles was grouped in the Colombian city of Medellin in 1995.They originally started as an experiment for Mario Rincón "Pachanga", who was musical director at Colombian based record company, Discos Fuentes.
The Latin Brothers was created by lead singer Piper Pimienta and Julio Ernesto Estrada López 'Fruko' in 1974, as a sister act to Fruko y sus Tesos on the Discos Fuentes label.
