The Adelphi distillery was purchased by Distillers Company (DCL) in 1902, and by 1907 distilling had been stopped completely.
In 1877 John Haig & Co merged with 5 other whisky companies to form the Distillers Company, with John Haig & Co coming under DCL's full ownership in 1919.
He died in 1892 and the distillery continued under his wife and son, but in 1920 was sold to the Distillers Company.
