He critically studied particularly the works of Sanskrit playwrights Kalidas and Bhavabhuti; modern Marathi poets of his era Keshavasuta and Shripad Krushna Kolhatkar; Marathi poets of earlier times like Dnyaneshwar and Moropant; and English writers like Shakespeare, Percy Shelley, and Mark Twain.
He wrote in Marathi on Dnyaneshwar, Namdev, Tukaram, Ramdas, Vitthal, Raghunath Dhondo Karve, Ram Ganesh Gadkari, Bal Sitaram Mardhekar, Dattatraya Ganesh Godse, Anandi Gopal Joshi, Ranjit Desai's novel Swami, Vijay Tendulkar's play Sakharam Binder, and many other topics.
In the 1980s, musician and singer Hridaynath Mangeshkar presented to the public in Maharashtra a popular musical program Amrutacha Ghanu which was based on the poetic compositions of Dnyaneshwar.
There are other temples also in the village such as Vithoba, Dattatreya, Dnyaneshwar, Mhasoba, a place for Snake worship and one masjid (Mosque) at the center of the village.
The Dnyandev Gatha also mentions Khechara, as playing at the Gopal-kala festival in the Pandharpur - where Vithoba's chief temple is located - along with the brothers Dnyaneshwar, Nivrittinath and Sopan.
