3 unusual facts about Doñana National Park


Australian feral camel

(Other feral dromedary populations existed in the 20th century in Doñana National Park in Spain, and in the southwestern United States, while a small population of wild Bactrian camels still exists in the Gobi Desert.) Live camels are exported to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Brunei and Malaysia, where disease-free wild camels are prized as a delicacy.

The Missing Lynx

Félix (Felix in the English version), a clumsy and unlucky Iberian lynx, is transported to the animal recovery center at the Doñana National Park, after one of his countless mishaps.

Veta La Palma

After a brief introductory period, in 1990 PIMSA was authorised by General Directorate for Fisheries of the Andalusian Regional Government, following the Rector Plan for the Use and Management of the Doñana National Park (PRUG), to introduce fish farming to the area.
