This is a Punjabi term referring to "pub" and is used in the Doaba region.
Established in 1969, it is one of the oldest educational Institutes in the Doaba region of Punjab.
Sangat Singh Minhas was the first Doaba Sikh Rajput to join the army of Guru Gobind Singh.

1846 AD John Lawrence, 1st Baron Lawrence was appointed the commission of the Jalandhar Doaba on its annexation in 1846.
He named the area between the Sutlej and the Beas as Bist Jalandhar, between the Beas and the Ravi as Doaba Bari, between the Ravi and the Chenab as Doaba Rachna, between the Chenab and the Behat (the river Jehlam) as Chenat and the area between the River Sindh and the Behat as Sindh Sagar Doab.
