Dooradoyle

Several attempts have been made by Limerick City Council to expand its area of control to include Castletroy, Raheen, and Dooradoyle: all currently administered by Limerick County Council.

St Paul's was created in 1971, having formerly been part of the parish of Mungret - Raheen - Crecora.

Economy of Limerick

The Crescent Shopping Centre in Dooradoyle is the largest shopping centre in Ireland outside of Dublin and the largest in Munster.

Limerick feud

A killing that caused a public outrage in the city was the murder of Shane Geoghegan (aged 28), who was shot dead in a case of mistaken identity near his home in Dooradoyle in November 2008.
