The lawn to the west has an early 16th-century circular dovecote, and the south terrace features a vast Magnolia grandiflora and a Banksian rose.
In the 1980s the dovecote was inspected as part of an investigation into an outbreak of psittacosis a zoonotic infectious disease caused by a bacterium called Chlamydophila psittaci which is also known as parrot disease or parrot fever, at the adjoining King's School but no cause was found for the infection.
An elegant house was built in the 1730s, of which only the Dovecote remains, and extended in the 1830s by a local ironmaster, John Dixon.

Minster Lovell Hall and Dovecote are extensive ruins of a 15th-century manor house, once belonging to William Lovel's descendant, Lord Lovell.
Today virtually nothing remains of the abbey, apart from the Church of St Andrew, which also served the village, and the dovecote.
