As a younger son he received only the district of Driedorf from his father's inheritance.
In 1604, he purchased his first territory, the district and city of Driedorf from his father.
Right near the community, Bundesstraßen 54, linking Limburg an der Lahn with Siegen, and 414, leading from Driedorf-Hohenroth to Hachenburg, cross each other.
