N'Guémo is a native of Dschang, a small town in western Cameroon, he played for various local teams in Dschang before moving to Yaounde aged 13.
Pascal Kenfack (born 1950, Dschang, Cameroon) is a painter and sculptor of international renown.
Most recently though the vibrancy in the town has returned due to the completion of the Melong to Dschang road with the town acting as a major transport hub for people travelling to Bamenda and other parts of the North West region of Cameroon.
Others, the M’mouck tribe from the upper belt of Wabane Sub Division are also said to have migrated from Dschang in the West Region (Cameroon) as a consequence of the Makiza wars and others especially from the lowland from upper Bayang in Manyu Division.

In 1954, the Arrondissement of Dschang in West Cameroon was administered by a mixed group of White Colonial European (Messieurs MOUTERDE Emmanuel et GAUGER Robert jusqu'en 1959).
Then in 2009, the University of Dschang and the University of Douala have each opened an Institute of Fine Arts, respectively to Foumban and Nkongsamba.
