The Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) established a theological seminary in Igbaja on 12 February 1941, with eighteen students.
It also has congregations of several church denominations, including the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) and All Saints, an Anglican church.
In 2000, the Haas Brothers joined Newark, Delaware based East Coast Wrestling Association where they once again received success in the tag team division of ECWA.
