They had a son, Arthur Plunkett, 9th Earl of Fingall, and a daughter, Harriet (died 1871), who married John Jones of Llanarth, Monmouthshire.

He became Earl of Fingall in 1793 after the death of Arthur James Plunkett, 7th Earl of Fingall and was appointed a Knight of the Order of St Patrick on 20 October 1821, on the occasion of the Royal Visit to Ireland of King George IV.
In 1883 at 17 she married Arthur James Francis Plunkett, 11th Earl of Fingall, 4th Baron Fingall (1859–1929), state steward to the colonial administration in Dublin Castle and one of the few Catholics to hold an Irish peerage, thus becoming Countess Fingall.
Colonel Thomas Butler of Kilcash (died 1738) was the son of Walter Butler of Garryricken and Lady Mary Plunket, only daughter of Christopher, 2nd Earl of Fingall.
