The island is owned by Jonathan Feigenbaum, who succeeded his late father Clive Feigenbaum (the former chairman of Stanley Gibbons).
The Ellenabeich Heritage Centre is run in close association with the museum on the neighbouring island of Easdale.
A stone skipping championship of a different nature takes place every year in Easdale, Scotland, that competes for distance as opposed to number of skips.
