It is in the municipality of Kantanos-Selino, which forms the southwest part of the region, specifically the East Selino unit, and the subdivision of Epanochori.
The plateau has an area of 15 km2, and lies on the intersection of three districts, namely the Mousouroi unit of Platanias (previously Kydonia), Sfakia and East Selino.
