Édouard Sain

He first settled at Écouen, where he painted various rustic scenes in the plein air style, but experimented with other styles.

Jeanne-Louise-Henriette Campan

The institution prospered, and was patronized by Hortense de Beauharnais, whose influence led to the appointment of Madame Campan as superintendent of the academy founded by Napoleon at Écouen for the education of the daughters and sisters of members of his Légion d'honneur in 1807.

Successive Dukes constructed numerous castles and forts, for example the Château d'Écouen, which dates to the sixteenth century.

The Château d'Écouen, built for Anne de Montmorency, became the National Museum of the Renaissance in 1977.

Pierre Édouard Frère

Pierre Édouard Frère (Paris 10 January 1819 – 23 May 1886 Écouen), French painter, studied under Paul Delaroche, entered the École des Beaux-Arts in 1836 and exhibited first at the Salon in 1843.


Jacques Patin

In 1559 he was hired along with François Clouet and Guyon Ledoux to make armorial bearings for the funeral of Henry II, and in 1564, by Constable Anne de Montmorency to work at the Château d'Écouen, although there is no evidence that he was given any important projects there.

Jean Goujon

He is also responsible for engravings for Jean Martin's 1547 translation of Vitruvius and for work on the Château of Ecouen, for the Montmorency family.

In 1544-1547 he was occupied with considerable works at the Château d’Ecouen for the connétable de Montmorency.
