Howell appeared as Cindy Lou Brown in the ABC/WB western series, Maverick: in a cameo appearance in the oft-discussed episode "Shady Deal at Sunny Acres" and in the installments "Island in the Swamp" with James Garner and Edgar Buchanan, "Alias Bart Maverick", and "Passage to Fort Doom" opposite Jack Kelly.
Higgins had been found in an animal shelter and trained by Frank Inn, who also trained Arnold Ziffel (the pig) and the other animals used on The Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, and Green Acres.
At the outpost, the three come upon crusty recluse Tully Casper, played by Edgar Buchanan, who also has his eyes on the gold.
