Eider-Treene Depression

To the north, its border runs between Hollingstedt and Treia, to the east near Rendsburg, to the south the boggy depression reaches to the Hanerau and Haalerau beyond the Kiel Canal.

Fehmarnbelt Lightship

Until 1945 it was moored at the position known as Außeneider guarding the estuary of the river Eider on the North Sea coast.

Flensburg–Husum–Tönning Railway Company

A major reason for the creation of a rail link between the Baltic port of Flensburg and the North Sea ports of Husum and especially Tönning on the Eider estuary was the export of live cattle to England.

North Frisians

Initially they only settled the offshore islands, but in a second wave of immigration around 1100 also populated the adjacent coastal strip between the rivers Eider and Vidå (German: Wiedau) on the Germano-Danish border.

Ramea

Delve

Delve is a municipality belonging to the Amt Kirchspielslandgemeinde ("collective municipality") Eider in the district Dithmarschen in Schleswig-Holstein, in northern Germany.

Duchy of Schleswig

The Treaty of Heiligen was signed in 811 between the Danish King Hemming and Charlemagne, by which the border was established at the Eider.

Besides the viaducts over the Kiel Canal, Voss designed numeral other bridges, for example the Rendsburg Swing Bridge over the Kiel Canal that was closed 1961, a road bridge over the Eider at Friedrichstadt as well as a bascule bridge over the Eider at Lexfähre, a bascule bridge in Duisburg, a combined road and railroad bridge over the Rethe in Hamburg and a bridge over the Rhine in Krefeld-Uerdingen.

Lafuma

After a difficult year in 2007, Lafuma resumed production of the Eider brand, but by moving production from Éloise to overseas facilities.
