Stephens left Nicaragua via El Realejo where he met the influential merchant and British Vice-Consul, John Foster.
After the combat in El Realejo, the Argentines found the same schooner with the Spanish flag that they had lost in San Blas.

On April 2 they arrived at the port of El Realejo, and prepared two boats with cannons and sixty men, led by Bouchard himself.
He soon left de Graaf at the head of a band of his own, and in 1685 pillaged the town of El Realejo.
