The screenplay was adapted by Dylan Thomas and Ivan Foxwell from the play of the same name by Joan Temple; directed by Anthony Hawtrey, this had opened in July 1945 at the Embassy Theatre in north London prior to transferring to the West End.

In 2008, Metavari performed remixes and original arrangements to the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds album to a near sold out audience at Fort Wayne's Embassy Theatre.
The New Embassy Theatre is a performance theater located in the downtown mall of Cumberland, Maryland at 49 Baltimore St. The theater mounts live performances of classic theatre fare such as Kurt Weill's Threepenny Opera and Kander and Ebb's Cabaret, as well as lesser-known work such as "The Mystery of Irma Vep" and "The Lady In Question," original works and local historical plays.
