The band signed with German label Lifeforce Records and released their full-length debut studio album, Ember to Inferno, in October 2003, with a lineup that included vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy, bassist Brent Young, and drummer Travis Smith.
All tracks were re-released on the band's first album, Ember to Inferno, except for "The Storm" and "Sworn".
