He then opened the New Tivoli Theatre of Varieties in Lime Street, Liverpool, in December 1906, but being so close to the Empire Palace of Moss and Stoll, the New Tivoli never made a profit.

The site of the Royal Concert Hall was previously the old 'Empire Palace of Varieties' designed and built in 1898 by Frank Matcham.
In May 2011 Edinburgh Festival Theatre, built on the site of the Empire Palace, hosted the "Great Lafayette Festival", featuring magician Paul Daniels, to commemorate the hundredth anniversary of Neuberger's death.
The development was built around 1900 and designed by the theatre architect Frank Matcham, and originally included the Empire Palace Theatre, which was demolished in the 1960s.
