Erhu, a traditional Chinese musical instrument known as hena in Taiwan
"Blind" Ābǐng (Chinese: 阿炳; 17 August 1893 - 4 December 1950; full name: 华彦钧, Huà Yànjūn) was a blind Chinese musician specializing in the erhu and pipa.
Hong Kong singer Khalil Fong, a Nokia spokesperson for Greater China, composed a song called "Coconut Shell" (椰殼) which features a segment of the Nokia tune played on the erhu, a Chinese two-string instrument.
The Tarhu was inspired by several string instruments including the Turkish Tanbur, the Erhu, the Kamancha, the North Indian Vina or Bin, the Double Bass, and the Duduk (a double-reed wind instrument).
The Second Spring under Heaven was the inspiration for the blind erhu player Abing's most famous composition, the Erquan Yingyue.
In Cantonese music it can be quite large and is often tuned to a relatively low pitch, lower than the erhu (usually one octave below the gaohu).
