Hartmut Esslinger (born 1944), German-American industrial designer and inventor
Frog (styled as frog) is a global innovation firm founded in 1969 by industrial designer Hartmut Esslinger in Mutlangen, Germany as "Esslinger Design".
Setting up shop in California for the first time, Esslinger and Frogdesign created the "Snow White design language" which was applied to all Apple product lines from 1984 to 1990, commencing with the Apple IIc and including the Macintosh computer.
Esslinger favored a bright-white color originally for the IIc, but Jerry Manock successfully argued that it would attract fingerprints.
The work of Esslinger and his group has stimulated an interdisciplinary exchange between the condensed-matter and quantum-gas communities.
