On 26 November 1977 he won the vacant European light heavyweight title (EBU) against Bunny Johnson, and defended it in 1978 against Rudy Koopmans, Francois Fiol and Avenamar Peralta.
In May Cable travelled to Toulouse in France to challenge for the EBU light middleweight title against Said "Freddy" Skouma.
Legrá won his first title belt, the vacant European Featherweight title, in December 1967 with a third round knockout win over France's Yves Desmarets.
On 2 Febrary 1984 he won the European light heavyweight title (EBU) against Rudy Koopmans, extending his winning streak to 27–0.
Two fights and two more victories followed the win over Tontchev to set Gulyakevich up for a shot at the full European title held by Scotsman Alex Arthur.
