Eusebio Leal Spengler, (born 11 September 1942, in Havana, Cuba), is the Havana City Historian, director of the restoration program of Old Havana and its historical center, UNESCO World Heritage Site, Deputy to the National Assembly of the Popular Power in the IV, V and VI Legislature, Ambassador of Good Will of the United Nations, the University of Havana and has his masters in Latin American, Caribbean, and Cuban Studies.
The Habaguanex Tourist Company is a Cuban corporation founded on 6 January 1994 and belonging to the Office of the Historian of Havana City, directed by Eusebio Leal.
His remains were later exhumed by Eusebio Leal, the Historian of the City of La Havana, and transferred to the convent of St. Francis (now a concert hall and museum), his current resting place.
The Cuban State has undertaken enormous efforts to preserve and to restore Old Havana through the efforts of the Office of the Historian of the City, directed by Eusebio Leal.
The building also houses the Office of the City Historian, headed by Eusebio Leal, which is responsible for the renovation work in Old Havana.
