Since August 2012, Euskotren Trena operates the Donostia/San Sebastián metro system, based on the Topo network, under the brand Metro Donostialdea.
An EuskoTren rapid transit line will be built through the district, connecting it to the underground network.
Zaldibar has a station of the narrow-gauge regional railways, Euskotren, which connects the town with other major municipalities and cities like Bilbao, Amorebieta-Etxano, Durango, Eibar, Donostia and Hendaye.
