After a year in Korea, Bryan served as Deputy Chief of Staff for the Far East Command in Tokyo before commanding the XVI Corps in Japan.
Previously, there were also territorial Commands, e.g. Commander-in-Chief Far East.
Walker was activated for the Korean War, joining the 31st Infantry Division as a Captain and serving as a liaison officer at the Far East Command.

India Command under General Sir Archibald Wavell the Commander-in-Chief (CinC) of the Army of India and the Far East Command, first under Air Chief Marshal Robert Brooke-Popham and then from December 23, 1941 commanded by Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Royds Pownall.
His son, Alexander Coucoulas, served in the US Army as a combat engineer in the Far East Command in the early 1950s and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal for the Korean War (1950-1954).
