The boat was originally named the Mumm 30 after its original title sponsor Champagne Mumm this sponsorship ended in 2007 and the class rebranded to Farr 30 using a modified version of the Farr 40 class logo.
In fact, it was the emphatic victory as Mascalzone Latino was the first ever team to win back to back Farr 40 Worlds that led to the International Sailing Federation shortlisted him for the ISAF World Sailor of the Year.
