2 unusual facts about Fender Bassman

Mikko Paananen

Currently Mige's rig consists of a Fender American Deluxe Jazz Bass with Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups, Fender Super Bassman heads, Fender Bassman 6x10 cabinets, various effect pedals, and an Avalon U5 DI preamp.

Quinn Sullivan

Quinn plays Fender guitars and amps including Fender Stratocasters, Bassmans and Twin Reverbs live, but in the studio uses all different varieties of guitars, pedals and amps.

Drain You

According to Nevermind producer Butch Vig on the Classic Albums: Nirvana - Nevermind DVD, "Drain You" had more guitar overdubs than any other song on the album: one clean track and five distorted tracks; two tracks of the Mesa Boogie, two tracks of the Fender Bassman, and one that they called the "Super Grunge" track.

Mesa Boogie Mark Series

The Mark I had two channels: The "Input 2" channel, voiced like the Fender Bassman, and the high gain "Input 1" channel, which produced the overdriven "Boogie lead" sound used most notably by Carlos Santana on Abraxas, and by The Rolling Stones' Keith Richards and Ron Wood, who used the amps live and in the studio from 1977 until 1993.
