1933 to 1945 The school was an institute called Fengtian Chiyoda Primary School (Chinese 奉天 千代田 小学 fèng-tiān qiān-dài-tián xiǎo-xué; Japanese:奉天の千代田小学校).

Aug 1945 to 1946 The Republic of China government recovered Fengtian from Japan and renamed the road this school is named after "Zhong Hua Road (Chinese 中华路)."

Born in Hefei, Anhui, Duan gained the post of Heilongjiang governor in the late Qing dynasty and between 1912-13 he was governor of Chahar, and the military governor of Hubei between 1914–15, as well as Military and Civil governor of Fengtian in 1915-16.
In 783, when a mutiny by soldiers from Jingyuan Circuit (涇原, headquartered in Pingliang, Gansu) forced Emperor Dezong to abandon Chang'an and flee to Fengtian (奉天, in modern Xianyang, Shaanxi), Li Song accompanied Emperor Dezong to Fengtian, and was said to have personally protected Emperor Dezong during the journey to Fengtian, along with his younger brother Li Yi (李誼) the Prince of Pu.
Emperor Daizong had Guo take up position at Fengtian (奉天, in modern Xianyang, Shaanxi) to defend against such potential attack.
