Fintry, Dundee

Charlie Adam was born and grew up in Fintry, where his family still reside (including Charlie Adam (footballer born 1962) Snr.

Derek Johnstone was born in Fintry and lived there when he was signed by Rangers.


Balfron High School

The catchment area extends over most of West Stirlingshire including the villages of Arnprior, Balfron, Balmaha, Blanefield, Buchlyvie, Croftamie, Drymen, Fintry, Killearn, Kippen, Milton of Buchanan and Strathblane, along with the hamlets of Balfron Station, Boquhan, Buchanan Smithy and Mugdock.

Mains Castle

The castle was the seat of the Grahams of Fintry and remained so until the 19th century when Robert Graham of Fintry sold the lands to David Erskine, with the condition that his family could retain the territorial title of Graham of Fintry and that the estate revert to the older name of Lumlathen or Linlathen.
