Afterward, Foghat performed the United States National Anthem while he Dingeman family, representing Lenox Extra Mile Hero Pete Dingeman, gave the command to start engines.

While there are elements of mild psychedelia present, the group's new direction pointed towards the boogie-rock that would be further developed in the 1970s by bands such as the James Gang and Foghat.
The band performed shows with a number of other artists including Foghat and Kansas.
In addition to headlining several shows, they supported such acts as Foghat, Rich Derringer, Pat Travers, and Stranger.

It was also home to many great concerts of the day, including Alice Cooper, Rush, Heart, Kansas, AC/DC, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Nazareth, Molly Hatchet, Journey, Kiss, Ted Nugent, Judas Priest, Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, Barry Manilow, The Bay City Rollers, The Carpenters, Cheap Trick, Peter Frampton, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash, and Santana.
Foghat disbanded in 1983 and Cartwright then joined a group called The Kneetremblers with two other Foghat members, bassist Craig MacGregor and drummer Roger Earl.

In 1990 original Foghat vocalist Lonesome Dave Peverett formed his own version of Foghat, and the version including Erik Cartwright became known as Roger Earl's Foghat.

He joined Foghat onstage on July 7, 2006 at the River City Rod Run in Post Falls, Idaho, and played guitar with the band on their encore, Slow Ride.
In 2007, to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the album, Foghat released the Live II double album.
The song has since been covered by - among many others - Jerry Lee Lewis, Screaming Lord Sutch, Foghat, Paul McCartney, Coco Montoya, Fleetwood Mac, George Jones, Elvis Costello and NRBQ.
During the next 7 or 8 years of Legend Valley, there were performances by a variety of different groups such as Journey, Foghat, Bryan Adams, Scorpions, Quiet Riot, Fastway, Kick Axe, Adrenalin, and many others.

This line-up of Foghat released four albums through 1974, the most successful of which was Energized (released February 1974; U.S. Billboard No. 34).
