Both are shown, together with the then abutting farmland and the playing fields of Plymouth College in a well known 1889 photograph now in the Francis Frith collection under the title 'Plymouth, the cemetery 1889'.
The area is mostly built up except for a small park on Moor View Terrace however Central Park and Ford Park Cemetery are nearby.
Before any filling in or silting up, this tributary of the Tamar was tidal as far to the north east as Pennycomequick and the western end of Ford Park Cemetery.
