The northern terminus was actually established in 1912 at Forgan, Oklahoma, then later rail service to Forgan ended in 1973, as Altus, Oklahoma became the northern terminus of the successor company.

From 1912 to 1973, Forgan was the northern terminus of the defunct Wichita Falls and Northwestern Railway, one of the Frank Kell and Joseph A. Kemp properties which linked Wichita Falls, Texas, with the Oklahoma Panhandle.
She was a founding partner of Forgan-Smith Entertainment, for whom she produced the USD 27 million film The Secret of Moonacre.
Forgan is the sixth chair of the trust; her predecessors were John Scott (1936–48), Alfred Powell Wadsworth (1948–56), Richard Scott (1956–84), Alastair Hetherington (1984–89), and Hugo Young (1990–2003).
In Forgan Smith's defence, these laws were more or less in line with similar ones passed in other jurisdictions (for example, the Official Secrets Act in the United Kingdom).
