The Baronetcy of Fowler of Braemore was a title created in the Baronetage of the United Kingdom on 17 April 1890, for Sir John Fowler, civil engineer for the Metropolitan Railway and the Forth Railway Bridge.
Under Scottish Executive funding, and to relieve congestion on the Forth Bridge, the line between Stirling and Alloa was reopened to passenger traffic, and the line to Kincardine was rebuilt for coal traffic to Longannet.
Greathead is renowned as the foremost soft ground tunneller of the time, while Baker is remembered particularly for London's District Railway, the Forth Railway Bridge and the first Aswan Dam - which coincidentally was heightened between 1926 and 1933 by Sir M MacDonald & Partners.
