Born in Roermond, Gommans began his senior career during the 2000-01 season with Fortuna Sittard, and has also played for Excelsior, Westerlo, MVV, Vitesse, Roda JC and Roeselare.
Daemen was born in Brunssum, and rose through the ranks of local amateur side, BVC'28 Bingelrade and later professional club Fortuna Sittard.
That earned him a move to Fortuna Sittard, where he played alongside British striker John Linford, but a niggling groin injury did not make him a success at Fortuna and he spent his last seasons at HFC Haarlem before retiring.
