On 8 October 1941, Mamedoff was flying with 133 Squadron on a standard transit flight from Fowlmere Airfield to RAF Eglinton in Northern Ireland in his Hurricane Z3781.
He grew up in Fowlmere, near Cambridge, and attended the Nonconformist Grammar School in Bishop's Stortford.
The following year Clinked left Cambridge and moved to Fowlmere.
It was briefly flown for evaluation testing until it crashed near Fowlmere on 20 October 1941, killing its Polish pilot F/O J. Skalski.
