unusual facts about Foxy Lady

Kathy Etchingham

Kathy was the inspiration for many of Hendrix' compositions including "The Wind Cries Mary" (penned after an argument between Hendrix and Etchingham), "Foxy Lady" (during one of the first performances of this number Hendrix pointed her out from the stage), as the Katherina in "1983... (A Merman I Should Turn to Be)" and in Send My Love to Linda (the original lyrics of which were Send My Love to Kathy until Etchingham objected to being named).

Diane Keen

Keen was a regular on TV during the 1970s and early 1980s, starring in sitcoms such as The Cuckoo Waltz, Rings on Their Fingers, Shillingbury Tales, Foxy Lady and You Must Be The Husband, and in two runs of a Thames Television children's historical costume drama The Feathered Serpent.

Let Me Roll It

During the Summer Live '09 tour, which included the Citi Field performances released on Good Evening New York City, McCartney added an instrumental version of The Jimi Hendrix Experience's "Foxy Lady" as a coda to "Let Me Roll It."

John Dawson Dewhirst

Some time in July 1978, while visiting a friend in the eastern Malaysian town of Kuala Terengganu—on the slow road from Japan back to England—26 year-old Dewhirst met Canadian Stuart Glass and New Zealander Kerry Hamill, co-owners of a little Malaysian bedar (traditional, double-ended wooden boat) named Foxy Lady.

As "Secretary" of Democratic Kampuchea's Division 164—comprising the nation's navy—Mut would have been responsible for the gunning down of Stuart Glass and the seizure of Foxy Lady's two other crew, Kerry Hamill and John Dewhirst—not to mention the arrest of the other six Western yachtsmen.
