unusual facts about Frankfurt Central Station



Eltville station

Track 1 is used by trains towards Wiesbaden and Frankfurt and track 2 is used by services towards Rudesheim, Kaub, Koblenz and Neuwied.

Flieden station

At the request of the Rhine-Main Transport Association (Rhein-Main-Verkehrsverbund, RMV) the starting point of the trains was moved to Fulda to Schlüchtern, where there are now connections to Fulda and Frankfurt.

Frankfurt Airport loop

The line is part of the Frankfurt S-Bahn network, connecting Frankfurt Central Station with Frankfurt Airport regional station at Frankfurt Airport and Kelsterbach station at Kelsterbach, where it connects with the Main line, for services to and from Mainz and Wiesbaden.

Main–Weser Railway

From December 2009 to December 2011 a pair of Euro City trains on line 62 ran from Siegen to Klagenfurt over the line between Giessen and Frankfurt, stopping at Bad Nauheim.

Goddelau-Riedstadt station is served hourly by Regional-Express line RE 70 en route from Mannheim via Biblis and Gernsheim to Frankfurt Central Station.
