Deathcry was one of the feature characters in the 2011 three-issue limited series Chaos War: Dead Avengers created by scenarist Fred Van Lente and penciller Tom Grummet.
The company was founded in late 2004 when comic book creators Ryan Dunlavey and Fred Van Lente received a grant from the Xeric Foundation to publish the comic book series Action Philosophers.
