His main contribution to theoretical neurobiology is a variational Free energy principle (active inference in the Bayesian brain).

In 1935, F. and H. London showed that the Meissner effect was a consequence of the minimization of the electromagnetic free energy carried by superconducting current.
The Meissner effect was given a phenomenological explanation by the brothers Fritz and Heinz London, who showed that the electromagnetic free energy in a superconductor is minimized provided
ΔG is the Gibbs free energy change during transfer of 1 mol of cations Xm+ from the phase A to B down the electrical potential, Δψ is the electrical potential difference (mV) between phases P and N (A and B), Xm+A and Xm+B are our cation concentrations on opposite sides of the membrane, F is the Faraday constant, R gas constant.
It also commonly goes by the name Frank free energy density named after Frederick Charles Frank.
In 1932, Merle Randall authored two scientific papers with Mikkel Frandsen: “The Standard Electrode Potential of Iron and the Activity Coefficient of Ferrous Chloride,” and “Determination of the Free Energy of Ferrous Hydroxide from Measurements of Electromotive Force.”
The band got picked up by a record label in Los Angeles called Alive/ Total Energy, an affiliate of Bomp! Records, and in 2004, they recorded their first album, "Free Energy", at RetroFit Studios with engineer Tony C. It also featured Celeste M from the San Francisco band Dura Delinquent on sax, and Tony C on congas.
