Poland Spring water is derived from multiple sources in the state of Maine, including Poland Spring and Garden Spring in Poland, Clear Spring in Hollis, Evergreen Spring in Fryeburg, Spruce Spring in Pierce Pond Township, and White Cedar Spring in Dallas Plantation.
Despite the name, the water does not come from the country of Poland but from derived multiple sources in the state of Maine, including Poland Spring and Garden Spring in Poland, Clear Spring in Hollis, Evergreen Spring in Fryeburg, Spruce Spring in Pierce Pond Township, and White Cedar Spring in Dallas Plantation, Bradbury Spring in Kingfield.

In some towns, such as Fryeburg, Maine, Poland Spring actually buys the water (110 million gallons of water from Fryeburg a year) from another company, the Fryeburg Water Co., and ships it to the Poland Spring bottling plant in Poland Spring.
Access to the town of Jackson continues to be partially through Maine, by taking Maine State Route 113 south to the Fryeburg area, then traveling west through Conway.
The Fryeburg Water Co. was ordered by the New Hampshire Utilities Commission (NHPUC) to provide the residents of East Conway, New Hampshire with Poland Spring bottled water (incidentally, the water that the utility sold to the Nestlé subsidiary) until the company fixed a pipeline that brought water from the spring in Maine to the homes in New Hampshire.
In the summer of 1890, while in Fryeburg, Maine, George went to the nearby White Mountain artist colony in North Conway, New Hampshire to pursue his interest in art and talked with some of the many artists who came there every summer.
U.S. Route 302 (US 302) crosses the northern part of New Hampshire, entering the state by bridging the Connecticut River from Wells River, Vermont, following the Ammonoosuc River into the White Mountains, passing through Crawford Notch and following the Saco River out of the mountains to Fryeburg, Maine.
