Fyzabad

In 1937 Fyzabad was the centre of labour unrest, led by T.U.B. Butler which is considered the birth of the Labour movement in Trinidad and Tobago.

Billy Ocean and locally famous lawyer Desmond Allum hail from Fyzabad also Janet Grace Anthony, Trinidad and Tobago's first female Commercial Pilot, comes from Fyzabad.

Oilfields Workers' Trade Union

The first meetings were held in Fyzabad, and the first official headquarters were established on Coffee Street, San Fernando.

Oudh and Rohilkhand Railway

It built lines from Lucknow to Hardoi, Lucknow to Barabanki and Moradabad to Chandausi in 1872 and extended the last to Bareilly in 1873 It built a line from Varanasi to Lucknow in 1874, with an extension to Fyzabad known as Fyzabad Loop.
