A HVDC back-to-back facility called GKK Etzenricht was installed there from 1991 to 1993, which made the name of the municipality Etzenricht supraregionally popular.
Hradec is starting point of two high voltage transmission lines to Germany, a 400 kV line to Röhrsdorf in Saxony and a 400-kV- line to Etzenricht in Bavaria.
