Many people in both groups chose Briarcliffe as a place in which to build or buy, ranging from important Air Force heroes (such as Col. Francis "Gabby" Gabreski, the first pilot to be an "ace" in two wars) to investors, artists and simple families.
In 1989 she married USAF Lt. Col. Donald Francis Gabreski, son of World war II and Korean War ace, Col. Francis S. Gabreski, and they had two sons, born in 1992 and 1995 after she had attained the rank of colonel.
