The suburb of Neugablonz in Kaufbeuren was formed after the Second World War, when refugees from the former German speaking territories in the Czech Republic, mainly from the region around the city of Gablonz, now Jablonec nad Nisou, settled there.
Until 1918, Bohemian Unter Wurzelsdorf belonged to the Cisleithanian part of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, in the Bezirk (district) of Gablonz (now Jablonec nad Nisou), one of 94 Bohemian Bezirkshauptmannschaften.
With Hess, she traveled in search of materials to Paris, Gablonz, Venice, and Wattens, home of Daniel Swarovski's crystal factory.
Within Kaufbeuren this role has been taken up by BSK Olympia Neugablonz, a suburban club formed after World War II by German refuges from the city of Gablonz (now Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic).
